Georgetown's People Problem

NO VOICE FOR STUDENTS

All of us believe that Georgetown is a university founded upon the belief in reflection and deep inclusive thought, but why is the university directly ignoring the voice of the students.  As quoted in the Tuesday, August 27, 2013 Edition of The Hoya, staff writer Eitan Sayag writes that "Summer Decisions Shun Student Input".  If the administration is willing to discredit the voices of upperclassmen, then we as Freshman must have a strong voice, willing to stand up and out in the uptmost clarity.

WHAT WENT WRONG?
  • The NorthEast Triangle residence hall were presented in finished form without student input.

  • J.J. (our new/now old) mascot was removed from his position without student input.

  • Cars banned for undergraduate students without student input.

HOW DO WE FIX IT?

  • Create an online 311 Request Service Center where students can submit a concern/request/question and have it sent directly to a specific department.

  • Engage students using an online database of New South itself vis e-mail and other web medias.

  • Hold town hall style meetings on every floor twice a month to find the concerns you may have as well as topresent what I have been working on in the Senate.
